It all started with a silver 2000 BMW 323i Touring—a car that didn’t just change lanes, it changed a life.

Robert Jaynes, owner and operator of BMRS, was drawn to the mechanical world from a very early age. While other toddlers played with blocks, Robert was fascinated by tools and machinery. His parents often joked that infancy skipped right over him. He wasn’t just curious—he was wired for engineering. That early fascination would one day become the heartbeat of Bavarian Motors Racing and Service (BMRS), a BMW dealership alternative.

By age 21, Robert purchased his first BMW—a well-loved but high-maintenance 323i Touring. It wasn’t just the design or luxury that won him over. It was the way the car felt—the handling, the drive. But like many older BMWs, it needed constant attention. With limited funds and a relentless determination, Robert rolled up his sleeves and began repairing it himself.

What started as necessity evolved into a passion.
​
One day, his mother, seeing his devotion, suggested he pursue formal training. That small idea sparked an idea that would change everything. During his tour of the Universal Technical Institute’s (UTI) Automotive Technology Program, he heard about the BMW STEP Program—“the" elite path for BMW technicians. The advisor set expectations: "only the best make it in".
Robert took that as a challenge.

With determination to succeed and place himself as a prime candidate for the BMW STEP Program, he mastered every course, exceeded standards, had perfect attendance, and maintained a 4.0 GPA, graduating at the top of his class. Then he did it all again after he was one of a few graduates accepted in the BMW STEP Program. He showed up to class by 5:30 a.m. every day, graduating with honors and securing a position with Chapman BMW Chandler.
​
At Chapman, Robert thrived—but something inside kept nudging him toward something more. He wanted step outside the box to take on complex builds, performance upgrades, as well as provide a full range of European auto repair services. He envisioned opening a shop where he could provide expert service with transparency, fairness, and expert service. By 2023, he opened BMRS in a 2-bay shop in Tempe, AZ.

Known affectionately as “Robby” by family, friends, and loyal customers, Robert is more than just a certified BMW technician—he’s a builder, a fixer, and a perfectionist with a purpose. BMRS was founded on his integrity, excellence, and the belief that high-end European car care shouldn’t come with a high-end attitude or price.
